Ecological food culture in Kirkkonummi
We founded this farm because we want to show how wonderful and inspiring ecological food culture can be. We want to inspire people to demand more from their food, to eat more diversely, and to find a new relationship with nature through food production.
We bring restaurants, businesses, artists, researchers, and food lovers to the same table to discuss what Finnish ecological food culture could look like. By showcasing our growing techniques, we aim to inspire those in the industry to think about circular economy in their own operations.
We organise visits for children and young people, with the goal of teaching the next generation of decision-makers and food lovers how good food grows. We create a living local culture by producing local food.
At our farm, you can put your hands in the soil and experience what it feels like to work with nature. Get in touch to book a visit — we'll offer you coffee, tell you about how the farm works, and teach you about growing.
We sell our produce directly from the farm, as well as through Uudenmaan ruoka and Lempimarketi. We also deliver to the city centre on Thursday evenings.

The harvest season begins in mid-June
For groups, we offer meals prepared by Finland's finest chefs using ingredients grown on the farm, workshops, and garden tours where we talk about our growing techniques and ecology.
We tailor the programme to your needs: you can put your hands in the soil, harvest the ingredients for your own meal, or go birdwatching.
Get in touch — we'd love to tell you more.
Our farm is a 25-minute drive from Helsinki, with accommodation options nearby suitable for corporate visits and plenty to do in the beautiful Porkkala nature.
We are happy to collaborate with brands that share our ecological values. We can create a wide variety of events together with our partners.
We believe that restaurants and chefs have a unique opportunity to act as ambassadors for ecological food culture. Above all, we love close collaboration: we'll let you know when the sunflower buds are at their best, call when we're thinning the carrots, or help you think about which flowers are in season and could work on the plate.
We also welcome ideas and requests for what we grow: if you want fennel flower stalks, we'll let the fennel flower.
We believe that farmers and restaurants can together tell stories on the plate that change the world.
We are a social enterprise whose core mission is to advance the ecological sustainability of the food system. We do this at our demonstration farm in Kirkkonummi, where we grow over 200 varieties of vegetables, flowers, fruits, berries, and nuts in a fully closed nutrient cycle.
The farm is designed to be a place where we bring together farmers, chefs, researchers, artists, and food lovers around ecological food production, and inspire our visitors to change.
The farm produces and prepares food, but also showcases ecological growing methods — visitors can see how reed becomes thermal energy in a hot bed, how fish offal fertilises vegetable beds, how fermented milk becomes a plant protectant, and how much food can be grown without any external inputs.
Our events are designed to be multi-sensory experiences that leave a deep impression and provide visitors with new understanding of the connections between food culture, agriculture, and biodiversity loss.
The farm is a demonstration that small, diverse, ecologically ambitious farms are a central part of agriculture's critically important structural transformation.
